Former ambulanceman Brian Janman has spent many years compiling an impressive collection of photos and stories about the West Sussex Ambulance Service tracing its history during its first 100 years from 1895 to 1995.
Illustrated with over 150 photos of the vehicles and buildings used by the service over the years, it also features recollections from many former West Sussex Ambulance Service personnel to form an interesting and informative historical record.
Of course the history of the service in West Sussex reflects that of similar services all over the UK and as such this book contains plenty of nostalgic material to jog the memories of any former ambulance service employees.
The many photos of the ambulances used by the service over the years will also be of great interest to vintage motor vehicle enthusiasts.
